First Game

thCA4XYAIK

Oh my gosh I was so amazed – so proud to be a cheering Momma on the sidelines of my “Little Kicker” playing on the field today! Today was my son Noah`s first official Soccer Game. Well I am not sure if it was a game but oh my I have not had a prouder moment than seeing him out there all on his own doing the `high 5`s to the Teachers (I guess I should use the official name) – Coach`s (Krystal, Sarah & Francis where amazing). He was kicking the ball all around and he didn`t like it when a little team-mate tried to take is hat. He promptly said (yelled) `Hey that`s my hat – don`t touch it!`. Well I guess the other team mates didn`t really like it when Noah was sprinkling his fellow team member with the lovely green grass. He was running down the field collecting the cone (thingys) when all the other where waiting their turn – he made a goal too! (Hooray Noah!) – you are going to be Magnificent……….

I think my little Man is growing up – he was out there without me having the best time! Well he did run in for a drink break and said “OK – I am done!“ (hah)…. OH my heart is swelling with pride and can`t wait to see him progress throughout the weeks to come. My mind was thinking OK what sport can I sign him up next for – (geez) this is first Team Sport – but skating – hockey in the Fall come to mind (mmmm). I could never understand those Hockey Mom`s (now I thinking I just may become one) – Well I guess you could call me a `SOCCER MOM`…. Oh my gosh – not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be so thrilled to have such a title.

Just Bubbles

My little Man turned 3 this past weekend! Well we decided like Mom we will celebrate all Month Long (this is the tradition which have been passed down from my Mother, as she loves her Birthday so much she like’s to celebrate all Month long !) – Someone asked him the other day – when is your Birthday and he said “All week Long!”. Mmmm.. he is certainly starting to sound like his Mother. Well he was delighted with his cake, his presents, his balloons. What 3 year old wouldn’t be happy?

One of his favorite gifts is his Nerf shooter gun (this is not Mom’s favorite). Momma doesn’t like the thought of guns for playing but he is always shooting something with his hands or any other object – so Dad said to mom while browsing the isles “Why don’t you get him a Nerf shooter”. Wow that thing really shoots those little pellets (thingy things around). Maybe that is why it is suggested for 8 year olds and not 3 year olds. Well Dad said ok lets not use those “thingy things” and lets use the laser part of the Nerf shooter. Oh my gosh – it is enough to blind you. So luckily we have put it away for now and he seems to be happy with his new little Tool Box – hammering, drilling, doing all the tool box “thingy things”. I was making dinner tonight and he is banging on a piece of wood and not just banging but really banging and Mom said “Hey!” – and there he is in all is glory banging and hammering with his new tools – Ok Mom count to 3 – 1–2–3…. Breath – Breath (That is what my Yoga Teacher told me to do today).

So back to Bubbles…. what a glorious day we had on the weekend playing with yet another one of his many Birthday Gifts……. “Bubbles” – they just make you smile – they float in the air and up – up – up they go. We went for a lovely Sunday drive and where at our favorite Marina and just Blowing Bubbles and smiling. Well Ok there wasn’t so many smiles when Meaghan my daughter was blowing those Fabulous Gigantic Bubbles and Noah running for the Bubbles almost fell into the water near the Dock. I will remember not to get out the bubbles so close to the water next time (or maybe wear a lifejacket – hah!). My favorite part of the day….. was just watching them go into the beatiful blue sky and making a wish to spend many more simple carefree days with my family watching the world go by or maybe just watching the Bubbles!

Puddle Jumping

I posted this picture of “Puddle jumping” on my Facebook page today – with the caption “When was the last time you did that – go for it!” – This picture made me smile immediately on this glum rainy morning. We must remember to be childlike in our days. With all the faced paced moving of life – we need to stop – and maybe smell the flowers (well really there are not a lot of flowers right now) – or go jump in a puddle. Boots are a good idea – if not go for it get those shoes wet.

Here is a great quotes which sums up my thoughts. “Great is the man who has not lost his childlike heart” ~ Mencious

Well gotta go my little guy just got up – and it is ready to start the day! He is yelling (mumma) for me…. OH I love that little man and that little voice – so much for quiet time.

Easy – Peezy

I just Finished reading this post about 5 ways to Label Clothing – I would like to add a 6th WAY!

http://laundry.about.com/od/kidsandlaundry/f/labelclothes.htm

LABELING #6 – OPTION (PEEL & STICK) Using ELORA LABEL’S – This is “Easy Peezy” as my daughter Meg says! As the season’s are changing (yes Spring will find it’s way here) it is time to get out all of the Spring Clothing – new hats, new boots, coats, new bags (you name it!). They all need to come back home with your Kiddlets so remember to add those “EASY PEEZY STICKY ELORA LABEL”S” to them.

Remember they are Just Peel & stick and can go thru the dishwasher, washer – dryer – microwave. They are very durable!

“STICK WITH US & YOUR STUFF WILL STICK WITH YOU!”

Oh those eyes…….

Oh Those Eyes – My Little Man Noah!

We where just hanging out tonight at my daughter’s dance class – Noah was feeling good he had a good day playing outside today (in the mud) at Amanda’s and he still had lots of energy while we waited for Meg’s at dance.  He was up & down the stairs racing around his “dinky car” – his special blue one that Mom had  just bought for him (he was so proud of it).  After he was settled down somewhat he finally sat on Mom’s lap when all of a sudden he started crying for his ‘picky”.  “Picky” is his Favourite Blanket Auntie Lisa gave him when he was born.  Well we didn’t have it – but we had a ‘back-up’ picky in the car.   The poor little guy cried all the way home and still cried when we got home and he looked like the “one eyed monster” – he would not take his little hand away from his eye for over an hour.

Well what does a mother do – load him in the car and take him to the Clinic.  We where stitting in the waiting room (luckily not many people where there).  He looked at me with those beautiful eyes ( the one eye covered with his little hand)  and said “So ……  Mom how was your day?”  He also like’s to ask me how my day is about 9:00 am in the morning too (I love when he says that).  So here we are and he says that  – (it was truly one of those moments for the “memory bank”).

Poor little guy still covering his eye not letting anyone see it – Finally the Doctor did see it.   Little eyelashes where crusted in  little  eyes.  She tried to put a dye in his eye to check for scratches too – but it didn’t work.  AWWW…. Noah – imagine what a little Man of 2 feels like when he has eyelashes  stuck in his eye and has poked his eye somehow with his toy or bumped it into something?  Well we  walked out and he still had his ‘dinky car’ –  a new sucker (from the receptionist)  a toy spider &  his picky in his hand and out we went “eyelash free” – his eye is a little  red & tender and but grateful again it was just a little “bump” in the road .   I think it will match his Boo – Boo on his head and another Boo Boo on his foot!

He is my little monkey! Oh those Eyes ………… He makes me melt!  (I must admit I adore those eyes – when  my  “Little Man ” is snoring &  dreaming about his adventures of another day! ).

Keep Calm

“Keep Calm & Carry On Sticking“……………. Does this sound familiar to you. Well it might if you have seen my latest postcard marketing materials around town. It stems from the `Keep Calm & Carry On`quote. Thanks to my most wonderful graphic designer. She really is amazing!

I sit here and I wonder how many mothers are trying to `Keep Calm` with all the chaos life brings us at times. What a sad day today the City of Guelph has lost a young female police officer. I kissed my 6 year old daughter good night tonight as she fell asleep in my arms, with the thought of this poor mother tonight never having the opportunity again to spend with her daughter. My heart goes to this family and friends at this tragic loss of life.

On a lighter note I celebrated my Birthday and my girlfriends Birthday this past weekend by going out for lunch to a popular restraunt in the Royal City. I will just say I don`t think I want to take my 2 year old out in public again (Aunt Kim) you know what I am talking about – need I say more. Perhaps you where one of the diners who saw a little man running around or heard him shouting out the special of the day! So I guess I will just `Keep Calm & Carry On Sticking!`- and maybe dine out in another 10 years!

We need to just carve out a little time in our days and say `UMMMMMMMM` – and be grateful for another day and each other (even those 2 year old kiddlets) – Maybe when he turns 3 next month things will be different.

The Golden EGG

The Golden EGG! One of my fondest Easter memories as a child is my parents and brother David & I where lucky-to-be in Boca Raton, Florida at Easter one year! I remember we watched the most Magical Easter Parade in small town USA. (They so know how to put on a great parade). After the parade all of the kids where invited to an Easter Egg hunt at the local community centre.

Well guess what? My brother David WON the Grand Prize “The Golden Egg!” …….. but he was too old to claim the prize. So little sister Nancy got to all the glory (well actually we both shared in the glory) and spoke about this little story for years to come. It was our special little memory.

I wish for you this holiday season some new memories with your family and friends and to be grateful for each other. It is a time to remember those moments gone by which evoke those “golden memories”.

This month is a Busy one – “Happy March Break!” ~ “Happy St. Patrick’s Day!” ~ “Happy 1st Day of Spring!” and “Happy Easter!”

We have a special on ALL of OUR LABEL PACKAGES this March – 20% OFF (March 1 – April 1, 2013) 20% – Use (Promo-code) BUNNYHOP.

LUCKY Girl…………..

“LUCK IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PREPARATION MEETS OPPORTUNITY” – Senaca

I am lucky – YES LUCKY! I am feeling grateful today to have such a Healthy Happy Family. Well we are not always Healthy or I guess not Happy all the time either. This last week my 2 kiddlets have been home sick with their MOM. Wow what a busy week looking after the little monkeys indoors in the cold winter months. We have watched movies, played musical intruments with the pots & pans (I have a 2 year old). We have baked, snuggled, giggled and wiggled. I must admit I haven’t been a happy camper all week but I am a grateful camper to know they will be back to their regular little schedules next week, (so will MOM). I am grateful that this Health issue is just a little bump in the road. I am so thankful my kids are Healthy & Happy!

I sent out my first newsletter this week – if you would like a future copy please sign up your email on the homepage of this website and we would be happy to send you our next copy. I wrote a little article about my favorite of houseplants the SHAMROCK Plant. They have the “will to live” they are the hardiest & delicate plant I know. They are my favorite!

We Celebrate Love

Hello Everyone ~

This is the month we officially celebrate our Love for each other on the 14th of February!  I remember how exciting it was making the paper heart shaped basket to hold all of the Valentine’s Cards from my classmates.  Wow what a thrill to give them to all your friends and then to receive them back!  I can still taste the Heart shaped cookies from West End Bakery my Mom always managed to have when we came home from school.  She would always buy us cookies for me & my brother from our favorite local bake shop every Holiday.  Did I mention those bunny cookies ( save that one for next month).  I think I will begin that “BAKE SHOP” tradition with my Kiddlets too  (“thanks Mom”).

I hope you can re-capture some special memories from your  past Valentine’s when you where young.

Well we are expecting a “snowstorm” this evening with 25cm of snow just tonight.   It certainly brightens and warms up my thoughts this Snowy, Blowy Winter Day when I think of the many reasons I have to celebrate all of the LOVE and Wonderful Blessings I experience from my family and friends.  My wish for you  this “LOVE Month” is to have Joy in your Hearts (and eat lots of Heart Shaped Chocolates/Cookies!).

Did I mention I have a SALE on LABELS!  With every label package you order this month ~ you will receive FREE 10 STICKY HEART LABELS!  (We hope you will LOVE your LABELS!)

What do Hotdogs have to do with it?

Well I showed up for Hot-Dog duty last week at my daughter’s school! I always enjoy helping out as it brings back memories of my mother on duty at my school when I was young (I was told I always volunteered her). I had a few minutes before I had to refill the ketchup bottles and took a leisurely stroll down to the good old “lost & found bin” – My daughter had lost her hat and neck warmer last week and I thought I would take this opportunity to check things out. (Did I mention I did have a label on her stuff & she still lost it.) Ok well she in grade one after all. Wow it was full of hidden treasures.

I must warn new parents labeling their children’s items that sometimes it takes a trip to the lost & found bin to bring the item home. Well they where not there! Even though I looked thru – or should I say smelled all of the items….. (locker room comes to mind). Well guess where my 6 year old daughter had her items. Just on top of her coat rack but about a foot to the left of her name ( I guess she did not think to look a little more to the left). Did I mention I had just purchased her new hat 2 weeks before she came home without her hat.

We are having a SALE on all of our Label Packages this month! Use PROMO- CODE jan2013 (25% OFF).

Hope you are having a good day everyone ~ talk to you soon……………………………………………..

Christmas Time

Happy Holidays from the Elora Label Company

Hello All –

How did it get to be December 10th – just 15 days till Christmas! It is so wonderful to see the excitement of the holidays (Santa) on my children’s faces. I cannot stop watching “The Polar Bear Express” with them – it such a cute Holiday film. My other favorites are “It’s a Wonderful Life” – (just love that one -It gets me everytime I need to pull out the kleenex box. Chevy Chase is another fav. with his crazy lights on the house and the burning Christmas tree.

SO bahh humbug I guess I say to myself when I get into the car and all I hear on the radio is Jingle Bells and Silent Night. Thank God for the words to the songs I received in the flyer the other day to the Christmas Classics ( my daughter who is 6 & I where singing up a storm on the weekend).

With all the hustle and bustle is really is a wonderful time of year – next year I am going to start shopping earlier, and deck the halls with joy in my heart and a smile on my face because I can see how my children are growing so quickly and soon they will not want to sing with Mom and will be out hanging out at the Mall with their friends.

So to all a Good Night & Happy Holiday – May you find Joy & Happiness in the Tinsel! If you don’t find it there maybe it will be in the chocolate cherries you find in the box under the tree.

We have a great sale on our Labels this Holiday season (December 2012) with 25% off all Packages- (just mention you read this blog!)

Nancy –

I cannot believe it is the middle of July – the cornstalks with be standing very high soon and the CNE will be just around the corner along with the back to school supplies on the shelf.  So enjoy those long warm summer nights and try to make the best of every day!
